Prom Shop Receives Dresses From Area Schools
Prom is generally one of the most important events in high school for many young men and women. It is a time where girls struggle to find their dream dress, and after-prom outfits, and boys strive to find the perfect tuxes to match their dates. Unfortunately, many of these students cannot afford these fairy-tale fantasy expenses, and that's why at Port Richmond's Prom Shop "Raid-Our-Closet" was created. After two years, Prom Shop continues to collect items for students, such as dresses, tuxes, shoes, and accessories, while also raffling off free make-up and hair appointments. With the help of schools like St. Joseph By The Sea and St. Joseph Hill, we have collected over 200 of these items, offering a very wide selection of looks for anyone who would like to visit the "shop." Creator of the club, Ms. Miracola, gave these two schools plaques as a token of appreciation for their generosity and service to others. Once again, Prom Shop will successfully cater to many young students who are looking for their dream prom look. If you are interested in looking at Prom Shop's collection, there will be "Prom Shop Live," which will include many Raiders modeling outfits down the runway. Go to Mr. Medugno for any questions and may you find your perfect attire!

Girls Varsity Basketball Makes Port Richmond History
After a very competitive season, our amazing Girls Varsity Basketball Team advanced all the way to the final round of  the City Championship game against the formidable Martin Luther King Jr. High School, this past Saturday, March 16th. Even though the girls didn't bring home the trophy in an amazingly hard fought game, they made incredible progress and achieved more than any other Port basketball team in school history. Our Raider girls played exceptionally well all season, showing their spirit, dedication, and intense passion. We want to congratulate them on a season that will be remembered and treasured for many years to come, and have earned a place in Raider hearts forever. Congratulations Girls Varsity Basketball!

Port Richmond Performs At The Barclay's Center
On Thursday, March 13th, our Marching Band and Cheerleaders had the opportunity to perform at the Dayton Flyers versus Fordham Rams college basketball game at Barclay's Center. Our Raiders had the privilege to take the court during the half-time show and impress the crowd with their Raider spirit. The talented students received very positive energy from the audience and we hope that this opportunity will present itself again in the near future for the next set of Raider musicians and athletes.

After a successful and exciting season, the girls not only made the playoffs, but have advanced to the final championship round. This Saturday the girls will face Martin Luther King Jr. High School for the championship of the city of New York. Not only are our girls thrilled and excited, but all of Port Richmond feels the excitement, and wants the girls to go all the way. This Saturday all Raiders should do their best to come out and support their championship team. This final game takes place at 3 PM at LIU in Brooklyn. Buses will be leaving the school at 1 PM, for all Port Richmond students who need a ride. We wish our Raider girls the best of luck and give them all our support as they play their hearts out to make Port Richmond school history.

Mardi Gras
Port's annual Mardi Gras was a success! Raiders came together to celebrate what is commonly known as "Fat Tuesday" with New Orleans style cuisine made by our culinary students. Port students and staff had the opportunity to indulge in Okras, Jambalaya, Gumbo, and much more for only $5, which helps support the Culinary Department. The Jazz Band was also a big attraction at this event, as they played many musical numbers like Pick Up The Pieces, Basin Street, Preacher, and Watermelon Man, under the direction of music teacher Ms. DelRe. The very talented music students showed their love and appreciation for our school. Thanks to everyone who came out to support, and here's hoping next year is an even greater hit!
