Raiders Riding High with Holiday Spirit

The holiday season is among us, and our Raiders, as always, are on top of the change with warm hearts and smiles. An impromptu snowball fight was arranged on December 21st at Elm Park, and our Raiders were quick to join in the fun! It was all in good fun, and everyone had a blast! Happy Holidays to all our Raider family, from The Crow’s Nest staff to you!

Port Richmond High School Receives Report Card

Port Richmond High School's TV Studio

Port Richmond High School is honored to be one of the few high schools on Staten Island (in New York City, even!) to have its very own state-of-the-art fully functioning TV Studio! As part of the Communications Academy, the studio is used by Mr. Garis' TV Production and Film classes, and Mr. Scanlon's TV News class. What's amazing is that the studio is identical and functions just like TV studios at NBA Studios and MTV Studios. With a whole computerized editing/production system, along with TVs and cameras, working in the studio is an experience like no other. Activities in the studio include filming, producing, directing, and editing, all run and created by students, and it's always a fun, interesting time. It's just like working in a real studio at CNN or ABC News. If interested in taking class in the TV studio, take Mr. Garis' film or TV Production classes, or Mr. Scanlon's TV News class, or take a stop by room B209 and check it out.

Hey, don't think we forgot about the PRINT edition of The Crow's Nest (okay, maybe we did. But only a little!)

This year's 1st print edition of The Crow's Nest will be out NEXT WEEK! Expect an editor or two at your English class door some time this upcoming week with the issues!
