Happy Thanksgiving
This year we have a lot to be thankful for. As we approach Thanksgiving, appreciate every one you spend it with. Tell them you love them and give them a hug, because while we are still here, we must take advantage of every moment. And let's not forget about the delicious turkey and apple pie we will be having as well. Don't eat too much my fellow Raiders. From the entire "Crow's Nest"  Happy Thanksgiving!

Port Richmond High School Gives Back With Food Drive
For the first time in a very long time, we have finally stepped up our game in collecting canned and non-perishable foods to give to those in need. Our student government, Ms. DiAngelo, along with the Helping Hands Club, and Mr. Medugno organized the donations for people to pick up today in our teachers cafeteria. 2011 alumnus and community activist/philanthropist Ashley Troia teamed up with these Raiders to collect the food for today's distribution to be given out in time for Thanksgiving. It is an amazing honor that she asked Port to be part of this amazing project with her wonderful organization. A NY1 reporter also came to our school and interviewed Principal Gannon, Ashley, and the Student Council. The food drive was a great experience for all; Raiders became involved and we were able to give back to many people in our community. It's always important to appreciate what you have, and realize that there are many who do not have much, so start helping others!

Watch Out For The Upcoming SING Review
Everyone is talking about the amazing performance the Junmen and the Senmores put on for the Raider community. Be the first to read all the details on who sang it best, who performed it best, and overall, which group took the trophy last Saturday night. You also won't want to miss all the drama that entailed during and after the winner was called. Keep an eye out for The Crow's Nest's Editor-in-Chief Sinarely Minchala's juicy article that will surely cause the biggest debate of the year, and afterwards, tell us who you think deserved the trophy: the Junmen or the Senmores?

Raiders Honor Veterans
Earlier this week, J.R.O.T.C students marched in across the field for a special program outside to commemorate this upcoming Veterans Day. Port dedicated a plaque in remembrance of the heroes who graduated from our school, and went on to serve us, but never returned home. Living veterans of various wars throughout our American history were in attendance as well. Next time you come across this plaque, take a moment to salute and bow your head in honor. As Mr. Gannon says, "On Monday, [October 11th,] let us take a moment to not be happy about the fact that we have a day off, but to be happy for our freedom, thanks to men who served our nation."
