Even though it doesn't really feel like it, today is the first day of spring! March 20th marks the official end of winter, and we're sure everyone is looking forward to warmer weather and blooming flowers. Saint Patrick's Day is here again, and the staff of The Crow's Nest would like to wish all Raiders a very happy holiday. We hope you have a day full of luck, and we'd also like to wish the most of it to Port Richmond's very own Marching Band, who will be proudly marching and representing our school in Sunday's parade!

On Friday, March 8th, Port Richmond's TV/Media Academy was given an award honoring its news program "Good Morning Port Richmond." The award was in the form of a plaque, which will be hung in the auditorium. All the TV Production students were in attendance, as was Ms. Mara Mantelbano of NY1 News, Principal Gannon, A.P. of the Communication Academy Ms. Candace McNeece, and a number of parents. TV Production teacher Mr. Garris accepted the award on behalf of his students and staff. The Crow's Nest would like to congratulate the TV Production students and staff for their outstanding effort, and a job well done.

College planning can be an incredibly stressful time for both students and parents, especially with tuition being so high. To help relieve some of the worries, Port Richmond's Parent Coordinator Ms. DiAngelo, is holding a FAFSA Completion Workshop on Saturday, March 9th, at 9am. Seniors and their parents are invited, and will receive assistance in completing their FAFSA application. If you are interested in attending, contact Ms. DiAngelo in room A124 to reserve a computer.
