Valentine's Day!
Is love alive in Port Richmond High School? Or has Cupid taken a vacation? It depends on who you ask. We went into the halls of Port Richmond, and found Raiders in love. According to our cute couples, Cupid is alive and well, and has shot his arrows in all directions. Watch out, because he just might shoot his arrow at you! Let's remember also, that Valentine's Day is not only a day to celebrate with a significant other, but a day to thank and show appreciation for your close friends and family who you love. So happy Valentine's Day Raiders; show all the special people in your life the color of your love on this special day. Here are Cupid's witnesses to love; check out our couples in our "Sweerthearts Gallery!"Wednesday, February 12, 2014
Senior Ski Trip 2014
This past weekend senior Raiders had the experience of a lifetime together on their class trip to the Hudson Valley Ski Resort. On the three days there, students got the opportunity to do many different activities, such as, laser-tagging, paint balling, snow tubing, skiing, and many more. Raiders had a blast, and made many great memories that they will treasure forever.

Author Addresses Raiders For Black History Month
On the second day of "Respect For All Week," Raiders had the opportunity to meet motivational speaker Gregory B. Dickerson, who had an interactive discussion with students about the impact of racial slurs, particularly within the African American community. Students were informed about language use, education for blacks, which is the main topic of his self-published book Steven: The Education Of A Young Black Man's Mind Do You Really Think You Need the "N" Word In Your Life?, and the importance of eliminating the degrading word "nigger" from our society's vocabulary. This assembly caused much controversy among students, who regularly use the word, but we can only hope that the majority will rethink before using it in the future.
