Lady Raiders End Season Strong
As the Lady Raiders’ season comes to an end, after just missing the playoffs, they ended it with a bang as they defeated New Dorp 66-41. Their leading scorer, Emma Somers, who averaged 20.4 points per game this season, added a game high of 33-points and went to the charity stripe 12 times, hitting 9 of them. Right behind her is Joka Oyefeso, who averaged a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds on the season, with 19-points as she made six baskets and added 7 made free throws. Destiny Annorh and Alexis Harris combined for 5-8 from the free throw line to even out the scoring with 7 points. Both schools shot 70% from the line but Port Richmond went to the line 30 times, while New Dorp only had 10 attempts. Even though the Lady Raiders missed the playoffs, they finished the season with a 6-8 record in PSAL and 8-12 overall.
